Teenage Drinking and Driving

I heard a story today about 2 teenage girls, who were killed in a drinking and driving accident. They were just 17, from Waunakee. I just think this is so sad when this happens. On the news they were saying as parents we need to intervene....But what as parents can we do? I know when I was a teenager we used to go on 'road trips'. Thankfully nothing happened, but something could have definately happened. But how can we make our kids listen to us? When I was a teenager I did everything my mom told me not to do just because she said not to do it! Now I have a teenager and I am scared and worried. I want to tell her not to do things and I want to hide her in a closet but I can't do that. So I talk to her and tell her things and give her my advice and talk till I'm blue in the face....But she still doesn't listen to well. Kids are going to do what they want to do and all we can do as parents is give them the best advice and hopefully they listen to us.
